FAQs

What is hot therapy and when should I use it?

Hot Therapy or thermotherapy, provides soothing relief for sore or stiff muscles, arthritis, long-term injuries (chronic injuries), or acute injuries (sudden injuries) that are almost healed (after the first 48 to 72 hours). Heat can also be used before exercise to loosen muscles but should not be used immediately after exercise.

Confused about when to use hot versus cold therapy, you are not alone! Check out “Some like it Hot. Some like it Cold” for tips on whether heat or cold is the best choice to relieve your pain.

How do I heat multiple packs?

Just like with a frozen dinner, heating multiple packs requires more time than heating single packs.

  • Start with the therapy packs at room temperature.
  • Remove PeazPaks from the neoprene/flannel compression sleeve**
  • Lay your PeazPaks flat, in the center of the microwave. Try to ensure the packs do not overlap.

Using a 1,000W microwave, heat the PeazPak therapy packs according to the guidelines on the back of the pack.

ProPeaz Compression Wraps

  • Large Joint Wrap: Heat for 60 seconds. Remove PeazPak carefully. Knead to distribute heat. For additional warmth, microwave in 10-second intervals. Do not exceed 2 minutes total heating time per use.
  • Small Joint Wrap: Heat for 45 seconds. Remove PeazPak carefully. Knead to distribute heat. For additional warmth, microwave in 10-second intervals. Do not exceed 90 seconds total heating time per use.
  • T-Shape / Neck Wrap: Heat for 45 seconds. Remove PeazPak carefully. Knead to distribute heat. For additional warmth, microwave in 10-second intervals. Do not exceed 90 seconds total heating time per use.

TheraPeaz Flannel Wraps & Pockets

  • Neck Wrap: Place the neck wrap in the microwave in the shape of a triangle. The goal is to have as little of the wrap overlapping as possible to allow for even heating. Heat for 45 seconds. Remove the wrap carefully. Knead to distribute heat. For additional warmth, microwave in 10-second intervals. Do not exceed 90 seconds total heating time per use.

** Flannel Pocket: If your wrap is flannel on BOTH sides, it is ok to keep the packs in the flannel pocket. If your wrap has neoprene on one side, remove the packs from the wrap before heating in the microwave.
